I know they are generally between 11-14 weeks. Is there an optimal time to do them, like say 12 weeks? I've read that once you get to 13 weeks +, they are less reliable.
My scan is on April 16th and I will be 11w5d. My doctor said that they like to do them around 12wks.
After a loss at 13wks and years dealing with IF and failed treatments (3 failed IUI and 1 failed IVF), we have been blessed with DS (surprise BFP) and now his little sister (2nd round of clomid and TI) on her way.
I've heard that 11 weeks is the best time to do it because it is the most translucent then. I have mine this week on Thursday, so I'll be 11 weeks and 3 days.
I didn't originally plan to have it done but doctor saw my ultrasound from 9 weeks and wanted to do the NT scan just in case.
You have to get them when you are between 11 weeks and 13 weeks, 6 days. Before that, the baby isn't formed enough, and after that, the fluid in the nuchak fold has usually been absorbed.
