Waiting to see baby

Any of you waiting to see what your little bundle of joy looks like before you pick a name? Or are there any moms out there that did that with their first baby that can give me advice? DH and I are in between 2 names for our baby boy and we are thinking that we might just wait to see him before we 100% decide. It's in between Dylan Lucas and Jamie Lucas (Lucas is DH's middle name and we are set to keep it that) We both love each name individually and have agreed that either way we will both be happy whichever one it ends up being. I like Jamie a little bit more and he likes Dylan a little bit more. DH is convinced that when we see our baby we will just "KNOW" his name. I sure wish I was as optimistic. I fear that we won't KNOW or what if I see him and say "YES! It's Jamie" and he's saying "YES! It's Dylan!" lol I'm not too worried about it and with only be 27 weeks I have a good feeling that as time goes on and we keep discussing it more and more we will figure it out but I just wanted to get some input from some moms that are planning on doing the same thing or have done this before. We (mostly) did that. We went between several names throughout the pregnancy, and settled on several "choices" to take to the hospital with us. We agreed on a final name, but we weren't committing to it until we met her.

For us, she was definitely a Monica and not one of our other leading choices. My first thought when looking at her was, "Nope, not a Scarlett," which is a favorite name of mine, and the name I wanted her to have throughout most the pregnancy.

I too keep hearing all these 'wait until you meet them' warnings about committing to a certain name for our little one...

My Husband and I are pretty much decided on two different first/middle name combos, so we'll be going with this theory more or less.

I think we're both leading the charge on one of the two respective names though, so it will be interesting when our daughter makes her appearance in August!

I'm really interested to hear from Mama's that may or may not have gone this route and what they think of it!

As we are team green, we haven't picked "the" name yet. But, my mom did not end up giving me any of the names she had picked for me, and I think my name ended up being perfect for me. So, with that bit of family history, we would wait anyway.

OP - Jamie is one of my favorite names. I can't get DH on board with it, unfortunately. Good luck!

We did this. We were down to 2 names: Luke Jonathan or Evander Jonathan. I was leaning toward Luke, hubby was leaning toward Evander. We decided on his name a couple hours after he was born. He just looked more like an Evander. I was worried it would be really difficult to decide/agree but it wasn't.

We did that for both kids. We had 2 names for #1 and she was DEFINITELY the name we chose. The other did not fit her as well. Similar with DS, but the name wasn't as obvious as it was with DD. This time we're team green so we'll probably go into the hospital with a baby name book!
