I want a turkey club supermelt!

I've been overly cautious about what's ok and what's not ok to eat during pregnancy.  I know that deli meats can cause listeriosis but they say that if you heat them up before you eat them they should be safe.  I have been CRAVING a Turkey club Supermelt from Friendly's but I'm nervous about the turkey... If it's in a melt do you think it's heated alright for me to be safe??

  • My OB told me that it is absolutely fine to eat lunch meat (even cold!) because the likelihood of contracting listeriosis is so incredibly small. In her words... "I don't care if you want to eat a cold turkey sandwich every day, Have at it!"

This. I don't know when this deli meat thing became such a "thing" but it's way over dramatized on here. Go eat your lunch meat and enjoy every second.

    This.

Eat your frickin' sandwich and stop stressing.  If you don't, it's going to be a long 9 months.
