Normal not having morning sickness?

Is it normal not to have morning sickness? I didn't have it my last time around (but ended in a mc) and i do not have it this time, atleast not yet! I have my little spells where i get quite nauseas and dizzy, but no throwing up of any sort. Are any of you ladies the same way?

Re: Normal not having morning sickness?

  • I have m/s, but not having it is perfectly normal too. Count yourself as lucky & enjoy it - I have plenty of friends who had healthy pregnancies and no m/s. M/s sucks, even if it is reassuring at times.

  • Phew! Okay! is it wrong that i almost WANT to experience it? But then again i guess it helps not because that would interfere with work and school! I hope it gets better for you!!!

  • I have not had any MS, dizziness or nausea. At my last appointment I was measuring right on time with a strong heartbeat.

While the presence of MS incidciates a statistically lower risk of miscarriage, the lack of morning sickness is not considered a symptom of miscarriage

  • I was completely freaked out by my lack of m/s. I had a day or two of nausea here and there but never once felt like I was going to throw up. I know it's a mind bender and it makes you worry if everything's going OK. I was completely shocked when we saw two little beans at my u/s last week!

    Hang in there!

  • I seem to get it in waves.  I'll have one week of really brutal m/s and then I'll go a few weeks without it.  I would just count your blessings and hope it don't creep up on you like mine has!

  • Symptoms can be different for everyone, and I've heard they can vary from one pregnancy to the next.

I'm at 13 weeks now, and I had almost no m/s.  I would get nauseous if I didn't eat something every 2-3 hours, and I had to eat crackers before getting out of bed for a couple of weeks,  but I only threw up once in the whole time.

Insomnia, though?  I think I've slept an 8 hour night once in the last 13 weeks.

  • I had a few days of it back during week 5 and 6 but since middle of last week I've really been completely fine ... the only symptom that is really noticeable is the exhaustion... I used to be a late night work - a- holic now I can't even get through a day without a nap!

With hardly any sickness we saw a healthy beating heart at 7.5 weeks last week and the dr. said to just consider myself lucky :)

  • I'm 20 weeks and never had a minute of morning sickness and actually have felt better since becomming pregnant - just had my anatomy ultrasound and everything looked great my dr. said, so I wouldn't worry about it - just consider yourself lucky like me Smile
  • I'm 37 weeks today, I havent been sick at all. I felt sick to my stomach in the evenings for the first couple weeks, then nothing. I have felt wonderful and look pretty good considering my large size. Some of my friends made a big deal about how lucky I was and how I am the only person they know that has not been sick. It made me feel like I was the odd one. Just enjoy your pregnancy.
  • I am pregnant with my third child.  I have two daughters and now I am pregnant with my first son.  I have never had morning sickness in any of my pregnancies.  I considered myself very lucky that I don't have to experience that.  You should too.
  • I'm having twins so I was expecting morning sickness to be awful, but I only actually got sick (like partying with the toilet sick) three times - all in the same week.  I did have a solid week where I felt nauseous 24/7 but other than that I haven't been bothered - Like PP said, I do have to eat every 3 or so hours or I will start to feel queasy.
  • I didn't.  I didn't know I was pregnant for a loong while because of that...enjoy!

  • I had no morning sickness and I'm 26 weeks. I think it's completely normal, just  a matter of how your stomach reacts to the hormones.
