Heartbeat?

I have my first OB appt on Friday.  My husband is been dead-set on us having twins, which kind of freaks me out.  I'm not high risk or anything, so I'm only expecting to have an u/s at 20 weeks like I did in my first pregnancy.  So, I'm just wondering if the dr would be able to hear two heartbeats if there are twins.  Thanks for help in advance!

Re: Heartbeat?

  • Yes, they'll be able to hear the heartbeat whether it's twins or a singleton. I had my first u/s at 7w5d and both babies had very strong heartbeats.

  • Shes asking about hearing heartbeats on a doppler not an u/s. And they might be able to hear two heartbeats if they tried. Since theres no real reason to think its twins I can't imagine they would try though.
