I know one of the topics that comes up a lot with solids talk is whether babies who skip cereal (or do baby led weaning) don't get enough iron.
My pedi does a routine blood draw at 9 months to check for anemia, Lexi's iron levels look awesome - and she was EBF until 6 months, when we introduced BLW and started supplementing a little formula. We have never given her fortified cereal of any kind, and while we do try to include some iron rich foods in her diet, it's not like we stuff spinach and steak down her throat ![]()
I know it's anecdotal, but just thought it was worth mentioning! (Although it might be more useful on the 3-6 month board since obviously everyone here has already made their solids decisions!)
