1st Trimester

Just me thinking to much but..

Ive read on a few boards here that some women go in for a u/s to find out the baby stopped growing weeks ago.

What would those signs be and how would you know something is wrong? Im sure I am just thinking to much into all the bad things that could happen because the is my first and for the most part I almost feel normal.

Have any of you ladies read about this happening or know any symptoms?

Unfortunately, when this happens...many women have no idea because they're still feeling their normal PG symptoms.  My BFF just had an m/c where this happend.  She went in for her first u/s at 8 weeks and baby looked great, strong HB, measured fine, etc.  She went back in for a 12 week ultrasound and there was no HB and baby had stopped growing at around 9 weeks.  She still felt very pregnant and was completely blind-sided.  The best thing you can do is to enjoy being pregnant and try not to worry about what could happen.  Stress isn't good for you or baby. :)

This happened to me the first time...I was stunned and crushed. My beta was over 6k at 8week appt too. I think it's pretty uncommon though, I haven't heard a lot of stories similiar to mine! It's still hard for me to not worry about that tho...

  • sadly I don't think there is any way to tell, which is frightening I know, but try to think about other, happier things.  Whenever you catch yourself going down this road, think instead about your nursery, or your birthing plan, anything :)  When I start to feel negative I try to distract myself, pregnancy is frightening as it is, none of us needs to borrow worries

This, exactly. It's much easier said than done, but you can't let yourself get caught up in the "what ifs", YKWIM?

  • Thanks ladies. I guess I am just worried because my symptoms kinda slowed down a few weeks ago and I feel almost back to normal now. When I went in last week the doctor said it was normal. Im just going to enjoy not feeling bad.
