Clomid CD3-7 v. CD5-9

Does anyone know the reason that a Dr would have you take clomid CD3-7 v. CD5-9?

I took it CD 4-8. I have no idea why they would choose one over the other.

I'd heard different people taking it on different days.  I think sometimes it depends on your dx.  I don't think it is a huge deal.  My RE wanted me to do 3-7.  I've heard of starting on CD2-4 but I don't know if I've heard of starting on CD5.  Good luck.

I've read 3-7 targets quantity and 5-9 targets quality. I've never read that anywhere in a medical study or anything. That's just what other ladies have said their RE said so take it for what it's worth.

That's what I found once or twice in a google search but nothing definite...was just curious.

I've heard that also about quantity vs. quality, but my RE sort of waved it off saying there's no evidence. She said it was my choice (3-7 or 5-9). I decided to take it 3-7 since Clomid did thin my lining during my IUI cycle. Although my lining jumped up by trigger time, I read a couple places that some RE's feel that 3-7 allows more time for your lining to thicken before ovulation. Who knows. Anyway, hope whatever you decide works for you!!

I was given Clomid days 3-7 and then again days 12-16.  I still don't really know why besides that they wanted the follies to grow before ovulation.

I've read real medical studies, so I take it as a fact that Clomid 3-7 has higher pregnancy rates than 5-9. The reason (I think only reason) is because you do get more targets on average when you take it earlier. More targets = higher pregnancy rates.

I took mine on 2-6 even though my RE said to do 3-7. My cycles are generally short, so I usually O on CD 12. That's why I took it 2-6 rather than the 3-7.

If you don't O on your own and really only want 1 target, then there is nothing wrong with 5-9. For MFI gals, I'd definitely stick with 3-7.

I am on clomid currently. My provider has me take it 4-9. I am unsure the reason but I do as I am told. Sorry I cant help out more.

I took clomid one month (NEVER AGAIN, thank god!) I took it 3-7 for the purpose of shortening my cycles..worked like a charm! =) went from a cycle approx 43 days to a cycle approx 30 days! (almost normal!!)

Do you have links to those studies? I don't doubt you, I just want to read them!
