and I think it's frigging awesome.
They're acquaintances of mine and there has been some facebook interest over whether they would get crimefighter approved at births deaths and marriages, and they did.
I don't think I'd ever pick any of their names myself, but the more I think about I really like wolfgang, and I kinda regret not thinking of crimefighter myself.
Normally I despise "unique" names, but this kind of takes it to such a new level that I like it.
Re: Baby name: Wolfgang Xavier Crimefighter Lastname
Does one of them idolize Penn&Teller? That's the only reason I can think of to use Crimefighter as a name- but who names their kid after Penn Jillette's kid? Her name is Moxie Crimefighter. (I wish I didn't know that.) Weird.
Wolfgang Xavier is fine, but NMS.
Wolfgang Xavier is fine, though NMS.
Crimefighter? Lame. Definitely falls into the "trying too hard" category.

If the parents need to try that hard to be different, they are compensating for something. I wish parents would remember that they are not naming a dog, but someone that has to exist in the real world.
I also think that there is a direct correlation between the type of parents two peple will be and the name they choose to name their child.
It really surprises me that you like Crimefighter - You chose such traditional names for your daughters.
I like Wolfgang Xavier but Crimefighter is just trying way too hard... why would you give your child that as a name? How do you know he/she will be a crimfighter and even if he/she is, why would you put that in his/her name? It's awful and it is really dumb.
Xavier is nice
the rest are NMS
I think it takes it way too far. I like Xavier but Crimefighter is not a name and not even new....as PP mentioned it's been used by a 'celebrity'. I will rarely say it but that is a horrible thing to do to a child.
Wolfgang is just not my style.

If you never use the name, then what's the point in having it? It just makes your parents look weird. And people pity you for having parents that are so concerned about their "image" that they gave you a totally off the wall name to try to make themselves look cool. I'd pity you anyway. In a "Well, bless her heart" kind of way.
Yes, every 5 year old boy wants to be named Batman, but one day he has to grow up and get a job, and I don't care what you think, I'm not hiring Batman to be an accountant. And what if the kid doesn't want to be a crimefighter. What if they end up being a gangster?
Um...YES. Normally I think people should save the weird names for their hamsters, but this is just awesome! Let's face it, everyone wishes they had a cool MN, right?
My DH REALLY wants to use the MN "Valentine" if we have a boy (like the main character in "Stranger in a Strange Land"). I finally gave in. lol
Wolfgang Xavier is pretty cool.
Crimefighter is ridiculous. And not even original in its ridiculousness (as PP mentioned, it's a celeb kid name).
Yep, trying way too hard...and then still using Penn Jillette's baby name.

Kind to whom? The OP doesn't have a baby named Crimefighter. She posted the name to get a reaction - she got an honest reaction.
It is your choice to not post your name choices here. I am honesty surprised you would create a screenname to comment on this point. Odd.

It's all just... too much.
One of those names mixed with some more standard names would be preferable. This combo just screams, "We're trying to hard."
I am not surprised at all. Im sure a name like that would fit you fine.
Yes, but Valentine is a legitimate name. Crimefighter is a hobby. It's not like your H talked into naming your child Samuel Rollerskater Smith.
a) It becomes our business when she posts it. Because we post on this board, and that's the point, right? Responses to what other people say? Or maybe I'm nuts and this board is just for typing every random thought you have and getting no response.
b). CRIMEFIGHTER. For ***'s sake, it's not like we said it was stupid that she (the friend; I know it wasn't the OP) named her baby William or Robert. Crimefighter is not an acceptable name for a person. If people don't understand that, they deserve a little compassion because they are clearly morons. If they DO understand it but still choose to use it, they do not deserve my kindness.
