1st Trimester

New Here...w/ a question!

Hello everyone!  I'm new here, so I hope to be welcomed with open arms. :)

I am currently 6w2d pregnant.  I already have a 6 year old daughter and I experienced a missed miscarriage last year.  It took us 13 cycles to get pregnant again, and I'm terrified.

I know the cramping is somewhat normal.  But what about the discomfort in my back...?  I hear differing opinions on this, and when I ask my dr., she seems to brush me off. :(  I vaguely remember back issues and cramping with my last pregnancy, but the baby didn't die until 6 weeks after those symptoms showed up.  So I'm not sure they're related.

Anyway, I guess I'm just looking for some encouragement.  Has anyone else experienced a back ache?  Nothing excruciating...more like kinda pre-menstrual, but not necessarily constant.

Thanks for your help.  I'm gonna get started on my signature now. :):):)

  • Oh thank you so much!  I don't remember this with my daughter...but I do remember it with my pregnancy loss...so I'm kinda freaking out.  But you made me feel better.  My OB won't seem to give me a straight answer. :(

  • So many different things can cause back pain, I wouldn't read anything into it!

  • I had some backaches early on when pregnant with DS - i remember because I was nervous about using the heating pad while pregnant.   I'm pretty sure it's fairly normal.

  • Thank you so much everyone, for easing my concerns.  I had an early ultrasound and it was discovered that I have a ginormous cyst on one of my ovaries...and from what I've heard, those can definitely cause cramping (even though I know that's normal anyway) and backaches.  So hopefully I'm just being a "pregnant after loss" paranoid mama. :)

    I thank you, again!
