Got the best news today!

So I was struggling with the fact that I had hardly any morning sickness and didn't really feel pregnant. I didn't feel right but I didn't feel pregnant. My doctor told me not to worry and to just use my appointments as a way to keep looking forward. 

Well today I had my 8 week check up. It was perfect! All my blood results came back with flying colors (except one. I am a carrier for cystic fibrosis- doc isn't overly concerned but there is a risk and they will watch for any signs as things progress). The baby measured in at exactly 8 weeks and the heartbeat was strong. 167 bpm. I sadly didn't get to hear it but she let me watch it for a solid minute. It was going sooo fast on the monitor. I got to see its little spine moving around.  

I'm soo loving my LO right now. I have a little pumpkin

Good for you, that's wonderful! Really makes me feel better about my first ultrasound next week. I only had mild symptoms for two (maybe three) weeks and they went away (though I'm still tired/hungry a lot and in the bathroom frequently, and have what I think is RLP). Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you've found the comfort you were waiting for!

Congrats! That first ultrasound is the best!!

 FYI-  I am 17 weeks and a carrier for CF too and my husband was tested and is not a carrier, so that totally rules out the baby actually having the disease!!!!

That's what my doctor told me The person who we think is the daddy is going to look into getting tested since he wasn't tested for his first son. I understand the risk of him not being the father but at the same time it will help ease my mind a bit since the other guy isn't involved at all.

Congrats! That IS nice to hear. I also do not "feel" very pregnant. My first appt is tomorrow.

I never had morning sickness, sore breasts, super tired.... I jsut peed more and had trouble sleeping earlier on. I struggled with worry on why I didn't but looking back, I am glad ... some people have it pretty rough!

I to am a carrier of cystic fibrosis & my DH is not, the dr told me that our baby will just be a carrier just as I am & that we should not worry about anything of it.
