Hi ladies,
I make all of my LO's food but the only non-homemade thing she has tried is Mott's All Natural (no sugar added) apple sauce. She loves the stuff! But I am wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't be giving it to her. First time mom so I am not sure.
Does anyone know whether it is made from cooked or raw apples? It tastes more sour than the one I make (maybe from the ascorbic acid).
Thanks!
Re: Apple Sauce?
It's cooked and just fine to give. I made applesauce for DS1 home made but got lazy with that one this time around. We only use natural apple sauce anyway so that's what DS2 is getting.
I'm sure the taste really depends on the type of apples you are using as well.

I also make everything but applesauce because it's one of the few produce items where I have found it is cheaper AND easier to just buy it in the jar.
The first time DD and I tried it, I also thought it was a tiny bit sour, but I chalk it up to the fact that there is no sugar and no artificial sweeteners. She loves it, though, no complaints from her! I think next week we're going to try adding cinnamon for a new flavor
I give her Mott's Natural applesauce every day and she loves it. I think it's a gimmick to buy the baby food applesauce, as is the baby apple juice from Gerber. It's the same stuff, but slap the word "baby" on there and people will buy it and pay double for it thinking it's safer. It's like that "Motts for Tots" apple juice. It's all made from concentrate, so they water it down more and say it has less sugar. I water down juice anyway so I'm not paying more for the same juice.
