Insomnia has kicked in and I just had a thought. I'd love to honor my late Granddad (IF we ever have another) and his name was Ross. Would Rose be acceptable as a female alternative? It would be in the MN spot.

I don't know if it's considered a female alternative but it's certainly close and a great sentiment.

I think Rose is the most beautiful name in the world but I think there are a few names closer to Ross, like Roslyn to honor your granddad. Or wait till you have a boy.
