2nd Trimester

Marginal Placenta Previa

Has anyone experienced this or know someone who did? Did it correct itself or did you or the person end up having a C-Section? I recently found out that I have this and am just curious. Thanks girls :)

Re: Marginal Placenta Previa

  • I am 25 weeks and still had it, as of my last sonogram, but it usually corrects itself.  I have another one next week, so we'll see...

  • I have complete previa. I'm on pelvic rest until the end unless it moves. Dr said she will schedule a c-section at 37 weeks unless it moves. I'm not allowed to do any heavy lifting.

  • I had marginal (as in not covering cervix at all, just low in the uterus). At later ultrasounds it had moved up. Typically, they do move up the farther along in your pregnancy you get. I ended up with a vaginal delivery. Hope all works out for you!

  • I found out a week and a half ago that I have a complete placenta previa, but with how the placenta is positioned they still feel I have a 70% chance it will correct itself. My next ultrasound will be this thursday to see how much it has moved and what our next steps will be.  I'm on pelvic rest (no lifting, exercising, or sex) but not bed rest.
