Wake Up Time w/ Time Change?

My LO usually wakes up (happy, on his own, babbling in his crib) between 7:30 and 8:00.

He woke up today at 6:30 angry.  Well, I know it's only an hour early, and I'm sure he was very hungry by then.  But I wasn't sure if I should get him up, or try to encourage him to sleep/make him wait until 7:30.

We did sleep train, and I don't want to undo that.  My concern is that, at 6:30, it's still dark out.  So how would he know the difference between me coming to get him and feed him @ 6:30 vs 3:30?  At the same time, it's been almost 12 hours, so it would be hard to go back to sleep with a growling tummy.

Any thoughts or advice?  Thanks!

  • 4:30? OUCH!

I agree, feed him and see if he falls back asleep on the bottle. My DD stretched her mornings from 6 to 7. I love the time change, but I do have a friend that their LO is doing 5 instead of 6 now.

I agree with you. I do not understand why they are waking up earlier if it's darker. hmmmm.

  • My DD often wakes at 5:00 or 5:30 (depends on when she last ate I think) and I feed her and she'll often sleep another 45min-hour to get to 6:30ish.  If she wakes on her own at 6 or 6:30 then we usually just get her up and start the day. Her wake time didn't seem to be effected by daylight savings.  We have also slowly moved her bedtime from 7:30 (asleep) to 6:30 (asleep) over the course of a couple weeks to try and help both with early wake ups and to help her get more sleep in general since she still wakes 2 time at night.
