Hello ladies
it seems like ages since I was on this board...hope you all are feeling as good as you possibly can! I promise (in most cases) the morning sickness will end soon, lol.
Anyhow,
I need advice from someone with experience....
My friend just took a HPT and it came out positive. She's really excited (as am I) but hasn't really started to worry about a few potential issues just yet...but I'm doing it for her, lol.
2 weeks ago she was admitted to the hospital and they realized that she had an ovarian cyst that had ruptured.. They gave her some meds (I think Ibuprofen and antibiotics) and sent her home after a few hours.
Now that I'm adding everything up, I'm worried. According to her calculations, she would have been 1-3 weeks pregnant when this occured.
Is it possible that she could have had an ectopic pregnancy (or something else pregnancy-related) that caused the appearance of a rupture? I know if she was only a week or so that she probably would have tested negative for HCG at the hospital.
WDYT?
Re: ? for a 1st Tri friend re: ovarian cyst rupture...I'm worried....
Did she have an ultrasound to confirm the cyst or did they just base it on symptoms? If she had the ultrasound it would be pretty clear what was causing the symptoms.
I actually had a cyst rupture on CD 2 of this cycle (I'm currently 6 weeks) and the doctor was not concerned that it would effect the pregnancy.
Also, remember that they date the pregnancy from LMP, so one week "pregnant" means she hadn't even ovulated yet, and 3 weeks "pregnant" means baby probably hadn't even implanted yet, therefore no chance for ectopic.
