Oh, I was just shocked at how much your LO sleeps, that's all. I was actually lurking to see if the 6-9 board was still having as many sleep issues as the 3-6 board, and I was floored that your 6 m/o naps 4-6 hours a day and sttn. I'm struggling to get 1.5 hours TOTAL naps, and that's with 3 naps, and she wakes up at least 2x a night as well. This is my second child like this (this one is actually even worse with naps than DD#1), and it's all I know. I was just super-surprised, is all (and super-jealous!).
Oh okay I took it as in she shouldn't be sleeping that much lol. She actually JUST started sleeping like that when we let her CIO a month or so ago. She was doing horrible napping and she was waking every hour. We were still swaddling her so we put her down one night, un-swaddled and let her cry. Since then, she's slept through the night and napped at least 45 minutes-hour every nap, which is usually 3 naps a day.. Hopefully yours will get better soon!
Yeah, I have ordered Ferber's book & am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I am not a big fan of CIO, especially until I KNOW nothing else is wrong, but I think we've got no choice this time. With DD#1 she had untreated reflux until we switched pedis at 9 months. Once she was on meds, she was a different baby. Because she went so long untreated, I guess I felt guilty & although we didn't have nightwaking problems, bedtime was a 2-hour nightmare until we let her CIO at 20 months. I wished I'd done it sooner.
This time, I really don't think anything is wrong with my LO. I just think she doesn't know how to self-soothe. I think I may be doing a graduated extinction much, much earlier this time. Hopefully it will help.
