Anyone not decorating the nursery?

Or am I the only one.  I haven't gotten the motivation to do it...I thought it would kick in at some time.  I figure the baby won't mind:)

  • Being an Interior Designer this is one of the things I couldn't wait to do so I am sad to hear that someone wouldn't want to!!

Now, researching insurance on the other hand- that I am NOT motivated to do!

  • We did not even order stuff until DD was 6 weeks old.
  • Not decorating completely b/c we are moving. I'm still going to order her wall letters and shelves but we won't put them up anywhere until we are settled in a perm. place.

  • We aren't, b/c the configuation of our house. We're putting her in a temporary nusery (our dining room we never use which is downstairs, by our bedroom) for a a year or so, then moving her upstairs to her own room when she/we are ready.  No use redecorating the dining room as a nursery when it's going to be a dining room again after she moves to her own room.

  • Yeah, not really yet. It's still full of junk that doesn't belong there which bugs the hell outta me.
  • Baby wont know - it's really for you anyway (in the beginning at least).

I think as long as your happy that's a good thing - why decorate out of some obligatory feeling?  Besides bedding & a crib IS decoration Stick out tongue

  • We're not really... at the beginning the baby will be in the "retreat" part of our master bedroom.  I didn't want to really change the look of that room because it's part of our master bedroom and will revert to being our room only once the child is able to sleep pretty much through the night.  We did purchase these wall decals that are really cute from Land of Nod to put behind the crib to make things look a little more child-like.  The decals are removable and resusable, so that seemed like a good compromise.
