Or girls of course... What do you switch to when the OS don't fit anymore? H is going on 24lbs at 5 months and he's almost grown out of the OS GroBaby/GroVia covers we use, and some of his OS fitteds are getting too small too now... I know we're going to switch to wool covers since you can make them however you like from sweaters, but what do I about the OS dipes not fitting? It's mainly his BSRB, which I love.
Re: Mama's with big boys...
My son grew out of the majority of one-size diapers at a year (30 pounds)
He outgrew some at more like 6 months, and some not until 18 months.
Like you, I had a big (24 pounds) 5 month old.
Something to keep in mind is that their growth slows down rapidly at this point.
In his first 6 months, he gained 15 pounds.
In his second 6 months of life, he only gained 6 pounds.
Since this is the time when they learn to crawl/walk/become more active in general; they won't be growing as fast. Some old one-size may actually start to fit again.
GroVia runs pretty average/a little small than other diapers. Brands that run larger than GroVia: BG(Flips if you like the ai2 system) and pockets like happy heiny, sweetpea, kawaii, blueberry.
You can also venture into sized diapers. Some diapers will have their diapers that come in size 1 and 2 (like thirsties/applecheeks). Your son will fit great in a size 2 until he is out of diapers.
You can also get him into sized diapers (bumgenius, fuzzibunz, charlie banana etc) My son has been in a size large since 6 or 7 months.
I'm sure there are lots of fitteds that come sized instead of one-size as well, I am not as experienced with a lot of different brands of fitteds.
