Really stupid question about 1st visit

I had my first appt. yesterday, and they did a pelvic exam and did some blood work.  Can they tell just from the pelvic exam if I am pregnant or not?  I'm assuming they can, but I think I am still in disbelief that I am pregnant that I am having a hard time believing it!  Just wondering if anyone knows!  Thanks

Hehe my first appt. is next Tuesday, I keep having horrible nightmares that I had a false positive and that my OB is making fun of me I'm now actually considering bringing the POAS test in with me just in case!

A pelvic exam is the same as your yearly pap smear, it doesn't have anything to do with your pregnancy - they just do them to make sure your healthy down there.

The bloodwork will confirm your pregnancy.

with my son the dr. felt around and goes "yup you're 6 weeks along" - and yup, i was!

When they do a pelvic exam they check your uterus.  You know the part where she has one hand in your who-ha and one on your stomach pushing on your ovaries and uterus...Yeah, they can tell you're pregnant from a physical exam and they can tell how far along you are by the size of your uterus.
