question for prometrium users...

I went to the OB yesterday for some pink/brown discharge and they did an ultrasound and everything looked OK but since I am between 7-8 weeks he prescribed prometrium until I get to about 10 weeks when he said the placenta will take over progesterone production and I should be fine. Anyways has anyone noticed pink discharge from the prometrium?? The nurse told me this could happen and I should not be alarmed but then how do I know if it is the medicine or if it is from me?? Just wondering how common it is to have pink discharge with prometrium use??

I have been taking prometrium since March 2nd bc my progesterone levels were low. I haven't had any pink discharge or anything like that. Not to scare you. I just thought I would let you know. It may just be you. I was told I might bleed due to bruising in my uterus but I haven't seen that either.

Testing on a Thursday morning revealed low progesterone. I started prometrium that day. I had light brownish pink spotting that night, Friday and Saturday. It stopped after that. 5 days later, when tested, my progesterone had climbed to 41. GL. Hope its nothing and that it subsides soon. Oh and I'm taking it orally, I found a lot on the internet about spotting when taking it as vaginal suppositories.

are you taking them orally or vaginally? when i was on the supps, i spotted every day i was on them. also if you are taking the oral pill vaginally (i have seen it prescribed that way) your discharge will be whatever color the pill is. if you are nervous call your doc.

Im on the same boat. Ive been taking them and each time I wipe I always look at make sure Im not spotting. Once I noticed some pink discharged & my heart nearly stopped! So that day I kept extra watched & learned that after inserting my pill the next time I use the restroom I would only see it then. So yes it's the pill that gives you the pink discharge. HTH
