Hello ladies!
Adalyn has been doing GREAT with the nasal cannulas since yesterday afternoon! It was so nice kangarooing her with less equipment! It is so much quieter, and I can tell that she is more comfortable. :)

She can wear hats now and so when we kangarooed her for the first time yesterday without her CPAP mask, they gave us a hat to use (since we didn't know and didn't have one).  The hat is actually knitted by volunteers and is ours to keep! I chose the one with red, because, well, she is feisty, and red is for powerful women, right?  :)

    love it my nephews who were born at 27 weeks still have and carry around the teddy bears made by volunteers at their NICU, 4 years later!!

I'm glad she's doing well <: My kids transferred to a level 2 close to home last week, I sleep here every night (in a maternity room ) that's provided complimentary to Special Care nursery patients (there are only 5 beds here). Wish everyone had this that had to spend time in the NICU, coming from a 46 bed unit at Brigham and 3 hour roundtrip drive it was a pleasant surprise!! Hugs to you!!

    That is so great that you have a place to sleep!  It's also great that your LOs are doing so well! I look forward to when Adalyn goes to the step-down unit. :)

    We're fortunate that we live only about 20 to 25 minutes from the hospital (depending on traffic), but the hospital does have individual rooms with the sofa pulling out to be a bed for those parents who live further away.
