Bright red spotting, 6w5d

Hi ladies, I have had spotting off an on since even before we knew we were expecting.  However, over the past few weeks, it had turned very light brown and pink only after I had a bowel movement (sorry, TMI).  Well, last night I went to the bathroom (just pee) and it was bright red on the toilet paper...nothing in the toilet though.  The same thing happened this morning.  Now, it's just a darker brown with a hint of red tint.  Nothing is collecting on my pad...I only see it when I wipe.  We did have sex this weekend and I did some light yard work on Sunday so maybe I'm just now seeing spotting from to much activity?

Because of my history, we've been seeing an RE so I've already had 2 ultrasounds.  During last week's, we saw the HB at 110 (5w6d).  We go again tomorrow for another u/s.  My levels have also been followed and my betas have been rising at an appropriate rate and my progesterone has been hovering in the mid 20s.

I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance.  Has anyone gone through this?  I know that it's all out of my hands.  We went through an ectopic pregnancy in October so I'm so fearful that something is going to go wrong (I'm thankful the ectopic has been ruled out at this point).

Hi.  I have no experience in this, but want to let you know you are in my t & p.  Sending you lots of positive vibes.  I am sure it was the sex/yard work.  It will feel so good when you see that heartbeat tomorrow.  Why don't you call your ob and tell them whats happening?  Maybe they can get you in today?

Spotting is not uncommon in your first trimester.  I was 10 weeks before I even knew I was pregnant with dd because of this.  Is it bright red as in menstrual red or is it more of a pinkish tint with mucus?  Dark almost black is normal as well as the pink w/ mucus.  Are you experiencing any cramping either like pms cramps or pain in your lower back?  If so rate it on a scale of 1-10 & take note of what color and how much blood there is.  If it becomes enough that you feel the need to use a tampon or more than a panty liner call your physician.

I had red spotting with both pregnancies right around that time. DD is perfect and everything seems ok so far with this pregnancy.

Hopefully everything is just fine and its good that your numbers are good and your u/s is normal as well. I know a lot of women have spotting. Good luck!

Thanks ladies!  This is all just so new and it feels much better knowing that what I'm experiencing can be "normal."  So far, it's definitely not heavy at all.  Nothing is even showing up on my pad.  There has been no cramps/lower back pain either associate with the recent spotting.  I did experience some pretty severe cramps a few weeks ago, but everything has checked out ok on my subsequent u/s's and the cramping has essentially gone away.

Right now since I'm with the RE, they have a certain schedule depending on what you are being seen for.  I love them because they are open 365 days a year, but the days are very planned out.  They only do u/s and bloodwork first thing in the mornings from 6:30-7:30 so that's why I have to wait until tomorrow.  Hopefully the rest of today flies by!
