Scrapping cervix

I am measuring at 40 weeks via ultra sound last Thursday and 3 cm dilated I am going in for my cervix to be scrapped in the morning...has anyone been in this position do u think it will send me into labor? I'm 37 weeks 2 days

I am surprised they are doing that. We have been measuring at 40 week since 36 weeks, and were told that it is only an estimate. We have also been dilated and effaced since 34 weeks. The last few weeks are crucial to brain and lung development. Unless they did an amnio to check Lo, I would not want my cervix swept. Babies come when they are ready.

I have big babies! My last was 9 lbs 13 oz this one is measuring at 8 lbs 8 oz so far
