official GD appt today

So i met with the endocrinologist today, she was very nice, and really helped put my mind at ease.

I've been very nervous since the ob mentioned insulin, just get flashbacks to my mom and how sick she always was, but the endo reassured me to not compare GD to my mom's diabetes. She explained it's a completely different situtation.

So she has me taking 8u of hpn 1/2 hour before dinner, and 1/2 hour before breakfast, and checking my blood sugars an hour after each meal, and after bed, and fasting upon waking up.  so it's a lot more finger sticks, but after all the roads to get here, i realized i will do whatever it means, even if insulin is the answer.

i'm just nervous...i just took my first insulin shot, so here goes nothing!!

i have to call and meet with the nutritionist this week to get a better idea of what/how i should be eating.

i'm feeling a little more at ease after today's appointment. hoping this stays well managed!

so that's it so far...but i am going for a 3/4d u/s this week too!! hoping to get some good pics

so any GD ladies with pointers, feel free to advise away

Sounds good, u seem to have a good plan.  Insulin has come soooooooo far.  It's nothing like it used to be.

And u know, it's my job to sell it.  Also my sister is a type one.

I'm sure u will get a good handle on it.
