I am mostly a lurker but do sometimes post. I have a 7 month old who will nap fine for the babysitter and will sleep on car rides, however he will not nap for me. I am home on spring break with him this week and he is tired and will not go to sleep. I have tried laying him down in the crib when he shows signs of being tired and he just fusses. Earlier this morning he fell asleep on the floor with me but he only slept for a half hour. ;(
Any tips or suggestions to get him to nap at home for Mom? Thanks
Re: Nap help
We have the 10 minute rule around here.
After a little rock and bottle. I lay her down.
She fusses, whines, cries or plays for a bit. I let her be until 10 minutes are up.
We rarely get past minute 3 before she's asleep. If 10 minutes are up and she's not asleep but fine I let be/play. She's usually out by 20 on a happy/play day. If she's all out crying..I go get her, see what she needs and try again in a 1/2 hour so.
I know people say it's just training her to cry that long and she's saved, but it really works for us.
I'm not really a fan of CIO, but this is more modified to me and LO actually seems to like it...as in it's her wind down time..she has to work her issues out on her own.
