If I saw this on a kid I would pronounce it Sah-bean. I like it! Even if you pronounce it the other way I still like it. Olivia is way too popular for me.
I would pronounce it like the river that separates Louisiana and Texas, sah-BEEN. If you don't live near there, then there probably wouldn't be that association. I like it.
I like the name, but I do think people are going to have a hard time with it. I thought of a different way to pronounce it then everyone else is suggesting. If you like it, go for it, just be ready to answer questions and correct people.

I think Sabine is beautiful, but I also love Sabrina (DH nixed it for future daughters though). I would be confused how to pronounce it though, and would probably say "sah-BEAN".
I like it best of those 3 names. I think it's much more interesting than Sabrina. To me, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal if some people pronounce it with 2 or 3 syllables - the pronunciation wouldn't be that far off either way.
First birth: Natural (med-free) Second birth: Hell, no. Epidural all the way.
Ages ago, when I was in elementary school, I participated in a French Back-to-Back program with a school in Epinal and this was the name of my friend's French girl's little sister.
I love Sabine. One of my favorite sibsets of cousins are Claire, Camille, and Sabine -extremely French last name-. Obviously they use the French prn. Go for it!
Re: What do you think about Sabine?
How do you pronounce Sabine? Sounds pretty. Is it Sa-Bee-Nah
All this
I agree as well.
Agree!

Sah-BEE-nah. I love it. People will for sure have trouble with pronunciation, but I don't think it's a big deal.
I infinitely prefer it to Maxine, and while Olivia is pretty, it's waaaaay too popular for my taste.
How do you feel about the similar-sounding Sabrina, if you'd like something a little more user-friendly?
Agree with this! I thought of Sable when I saw it. I'd say it Sah-bean.
I love Maxine too!
I would pronounce it sah-BEEN.

This! Love Sabine

Thanks for all the help!
I like either Sa-bean-a or Sa-bean, for some reason I just don't like Sabrina.
My 6 yo daughter's pick is Rosie or Olivia, so we may use Rose as a middle name.
I really like Maxine but after so many negative comments from family and friends I am a bit down on that name.
