Making Babies - The Book

I've heard just a little about this book, but enough to make me want to read it.  I would love to hear anyone else's experience with the book.  We are 14 months into TTC and would love to excersize every option before surgery.  Thanks!

Re: Making Babies - The Book

  • I'm confused.  Do you have a diagnosis?  There are tons of options that don't require surgery.  And honestly, I'm not even sure what type of surgery you mean.

I can tell you that Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book if you want to learn about your body and cycle.

After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
    No heartbeat at 10w6d
    FET August 27,2012 = BFP!
    It's a boy!

  • Any book that promises conception success in three months is full of shyt.

Also, the author is an RE and does not report his successes/failures to SART, which makes me think all kinds of unsavory things about him.

  • I read this book....and found it to be helpful.  I didn't buy into the idea that it would help me get pregnant within three months....as much as I wanted to.  So whatever you do...don't read it for that reason.  It has a lot of personal experiences from their patients, which I liked.  There's a lot of tips and things...to help increase your chances.  Basically, it was a good book for learning more about your body.  A lot of things depend on your diagnosis...so some of things in the book could help you, or not.
