How do you sleep at night?

Before I was a side sleeper, preferably on my right side. Now when I try to sleep on my right side my hip hurts, so I've tried sleeping on the left, but then after a while that hip hurts. I've tried sleeping on top of a pillow which helped a little bit, and sleeping with a pillow between my legs. Is there something else that I could try that might make it more comfortable to sleep?

  • That happened to me too. I had to change positions a million times in the night. I started sleeping with a body pillow the last few nights and it's helped.

  • I have been finding myself sleeping on the couch.  Theres something about leaning against it and putting a pillow between my legs that makes me more comfortable.  I am seriously considering one of the maternity pillows this time around.  I know with ds I was miserable and slept in the recliner most of that pregnancy.
  • I've found that I just keep moving all night...side to back to other side and then I work my way back the opposite direction.  I find I like on my side but leaning towards my stomach...not flat but not completely on my side is most comfortable...I'm considering a body pillow as well...not sure if there will be enough room in the bed between my husband, the dog and I lol
  • I am still comfortable sleeping on my belly, but I probably only have a few more weeks until I start getting really uncomfortable trying to sleep.  I find many pillows strategically placed and moving all night to work.

  • I'm only 5 1/2 weeks so no real issues yet, but my stomach hurts so bad from bloat by the time I go to bed that I can't sleep on my stomach. However, yesterday I was talking to my dad--he just got a colostomy bag put on due to cancer--and he's been sleeping on an air mattress to avoid it hurting. I think that may be worth a shot for us women. :)

  • I sleep on the couch sometimes too

  • I'm still sleeping on my belly but tried to sleep on my back the last few nights due to congestion.  My husband is a bigger guy also and the bed seems to sink in the middle depending on how he is laying.  That makes that side of me lower and tends to make my hip/leg fall asleep!
