Gap's were looking pretty good to me (online). But the reviews say they aren't truly skinny....and skinny is what I am going for. I am short (5'3") so length is an issue too. I really wish the Gap ones didn't get bad reviews because they carry short.
Where did you get your skinnys?

I had the same issue with the Old Navy, Motherhood, and Pea in the Pod skinnies - they were more straight leg at the ankle, way too much leftover material not hugging close to the leg. I tried the ON Maternity Jeggings but omg the fit was so heinous, they were a colossal fail.
The J Brand maternity skinnies are amazing. They're pricey, but they're true to size, true to fit, they move with you.. love love love. I bought a pair from shop bop and then found two pairs of colored denim on Ebay for 1/2 price.
The gap skinny jeans looked like mom jeans on me and that was after going down 2 sizes!
I decided to try on some designer skinny jeans at pea in the pod and ended up with ag stilt jeans. A lot if designer skinnys aren't that long, so I got away with not needing to hem mine.

I have gap maternity skinny jeans and they fit great (and I'm 5'2"). I got the full panel and they are extremely comfortable.
I also have some of the long and lean gap maternity jeans in the demi-panel. They fit/look great, but the demi-panel can be a lot of pressure on the belly.
I looked around and tried pairs at Gap and Destination Maternity (Motherhood/Pea in the Pod combined) and nothing worked. The Gap didn't have ankle in the style I wanted, and the regular length in that style were really weird--the fade pattern was really unattractive and they bunched so badly at my knees. I found a perfect pair wash/length-wise at Destination Maternity, but they were sewn incorrectly! The butt pockets were totally uneven and they didn't have a pair that were sewn correctly, and for $80+, I wasn't going try finding another pair at another store only to have the same quality issues.
I ended up ordering two pairs from Old Navy -- one pair of skinnys with a full panel and a pair of red jeggings (under belly woven waist) and both were perfect, other than the length. They are being altered for length now--I'm 5'4'' and needed to take about 3-4 inches off both pairs.
