"Low" fetal heart rate at 6w3d

Hi everyone!

 I had an US on Monday and the fetal heart rate was 111 measuring at 6w3d. From what I read online this is fine, but my doctor seemed to be cocnerned and vocied that I needed to come in next Tuesday for another US. I had a miscarriage in November 2011, so of course I am worried that its happening again. Im hoping that they are just being overly cautious due to my November miscarry. My best friend is measuring two days earlier than me and her babys heartrate was 150! Which of course freaked me out even more! Any advice or similar stories would be great.

I don't know how much the HB should change within a few days.  But I was measuring at about 6w at my ultrasound on Wednesday and baby's heartrate was at 105 and my doctor was very happy.  I looked it up online and was in the completely normal range.  Hopefully your doctor is just being overly cautious.

At just over 6 weeks the heart has just begun to beat and can take several days to ramp up.  Your doctor is just making sure it does that but I would say it's totally normal and I bet you'll see it beating away rapidly in a couple days.  (BTW, 111 isn't even that low for 6w3d IMO)

At 6w2d we had a reading of 118bpm and my dr was concerned. I went back at 9w4d and it was up to a health 179bpm. I think my dr was just being cautious and wanted a follow up to see how things were progressing. Did you hear anything about a follow up u/s to check on baby in a few weeks. I was so concerned for those 3 weeks so I can see why you're worried. I'm sure everything is fine.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now.  That seems like it should be a normal rate.  I went in at 7w/2d and mine was 148 and the doctor said at that point that it could range anywhere from 110-180.

At 5w6d my dd's was 83.  A few days later it was up in the normal range, I think maybe 121.  So a few days can make a huge difference.  I hope the next week goes fast for you!  Good Luck!

mine was in the upper 90's at around 7 weeks. my doctor was a little concerned but it was in the normal range and everything appeared normal. i'm sure everything is ok the range for that time is 90-110. so your good

My doctor has said that anything over 100 bpm is considered "normal" and not to worry.  I had 112 bpm at 6w5d and then 172 bpm at 8w4d.

Try not to stress and see what your second u/s brings.

 mine was at 96 6w3d have not heard back from doc. so it seems to be ok

First off thank you everyone for your responses and support!! Great news!! I went to the doctor yesterday and the heartbeat was 144! They thought this was great as I am measuring 7w4d! I feel so much better. I know that I am not "out of the woods" quite yet, but I am feeling awesome about these results!!
