Cloth Diapering

help with stripping diapers and new deteregent recs?

DD has a rash (almost looks more like a burn) that hasn't cleared up with using CJs and having lots of diaper free time.  I'm guessing I need to try stripping my diapers to see if that helps.  What's the best way to do this?  Our stash is mostly BG 4.0s with a few Charlie Banana diapers.

Our normal detergent for her dipes is RnG but now I'm reading online that other people have rash/burn issues with it so I'm thinking we may try switching detergent too.  Any recommendations?

 Thanks!

  • Tiny Bubbles... Kelly's closet sells sample packs if you only want to try a few loads out to begin with instead of buying a full box.. if you like it, costco.com sells it in bulk

I also use charlies soap, which some people have rash issues with also, but it REALLY gets diapers clean.  My cousin strips her diapers with charlies - I personally think calgon or RLR would be better for stripping but to each their own.

If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • I always strip with Dawn - I just wash them with ~ 1 tsp in the front loader, then do 2 extra rinses.

RnG didn't work for me. I currently use soap nuts and 1 tbsp of the EFF recipe as a booster (borax, washing soda, oxiclean). Soap nuts are very kind to sensitive skin.
