Anyone on progesterone? q?

I was on progesterone with my last pg and was given an Rx today.  I went to pick it up and it was $112!?!?!  I could have sworn I only paid my $8 generic copay last time.  The pharmacy wasn't any help and just said "they filed it with my ins."  Well I looked it up through my insurance and it should have been $49.85 tops!  I didn't pay for it and thought I would call the Dr. tomorrow.  What do you take and may I ask what you pay for it?  She'd Rx Prometrium cap 200mg this time.

  • I was on Crinone (progesterone supp. gel) I paid $70 for 30day supply. Which is the price for my 3rd tier co pay.

  • Last time around I had a Dr rx a supp. and I had to pay an arm and a leg for it through the hospital pharmacy!  I switched Drs (same one I will see this time) and she gave me an Rx for an oral one.

  • I was on prometrium and had a $37 monthly co-pay.  Do you have a mail order option?  Would it be cheaper that way?

  • I'm on Endometrin and payed $12 for my copy for 2 boxes worth. However we have Tricare and normally don't pay for perscriptions unless from an outside pharmacy and even then our co pays are phenomenal.

  • I am on Prometrium 200 mg, my 30 day prescription was $30.00 with my insurance.  I have had two miscarriages and they started me on this prescription as soon as a found out I was prego this time.
  • When I looked it up online (ins. company website that I logged into) it showed it should be $49.85 so I almost think Target messed up somehow.  Either way it showed something called medroxyprogesterone acetate as a possibility with an $8 generic copay.

There is a mail order option but the prices where the same.

  • I paid like $135 for a 30 day supply the first time and $35 the second time. I would guess your deductible probably started over for the year.

BTW, no offense, but considering what some people have had to spend around here to get pregnant in the first place (through IUI's, IVF or other ART), $112 ain't that bad.  You need this for a successfuly pregnancy.  Get the RX filled.
