2nd+ Time Moms: Do you have a registry?

I am  debating about using a registry just to organize what we need for #2,-as my own shopping list (I would like to make it private if I can -not sure if possible). How many are doing this? The reason why I ask is because I am kinda apprehensive about using a registry for an alternative purpose than what it is intended for. I'm debating between a registry and Excel to organize my shopping list. Thanks!

I'm just making an Amazon Wish List that is private, so no one thinks I am being gift grabby. :P Excel is a great idea, too.

Not yet, but I may after we learn the sex for the same reason you are doing. I am not for sure about making it private, but unless you have snoopy relatives you can always make one and just not tell people. If you are worried that people will search for you, you can always use a different name. But make sure to keep your address so that you can get the completion coupons. (another reason to make a registry!)

I am doing a registry this time, as well as having a shower.  I had my first baby 6 1/2 years ago, and was 19 and unmarried.  Now I am married and expecting a boy, and my family wants to throw me one.  Plus, I don't have any of my daughters old things.  I think it is nice to have for yourself too, just so you know what you need.  Some of the stuff we put on there, we don't intend for others to buy us, but it's so that we know what we need to buy,

I didn't know they did this! 

Also, I should add that I am doing this bc the kiddos will only be 22 months apart. If they were a few years apart and different genders (don't know this one's yet of course) then I might register.

I've considered it, but haven't done it yet.  Right now I'm just keeping a list of what we need, but it would be much easier to have it online somewhere.  If I do create one and it can't be made private I will be using a different name (maybe just my middle name instead of first so I don't forget what I used).  I'll also use a different due date so I can get a completion coupon a bit earlier than I did last time.

I have one from BRU - it's not private but no one has the information. I will be telling my mom and his mom that if anyone does ask we have a small registry but are not expecting gifts. It's more for us to know what we need to get and to provide people who do want to purchase something some options. I will also give it to people who ask.

I haven't made one and wasn't planning on it...  Strangely though, friends keep asking what I need and I never really know what to say.

I made a Amazon wish list because I would love some new CDs and a second Radian for the baby.  I have everything else, and people have been asking me what we need so I'd rather get what I want than get things I do not need.  I made also thought it would be nice to have the discount after all is said and done.

I've made a really short one for both of my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies- but have only mentioned it if someone asks.  Mostly for out of state family who wants to get us something.

I will be making a registry but I am doing it because we are having a shower.  DD is six years old and even though I kept a lot of stuff in case I had another girl I am having twins so our parents are doing a shower.  This is also technically DH's first child though he has helped me raise DD since she was 6 months and has now adopted her.

I didn't plan to register, but I wanted the 10% completion discount at Amazon and even asked my dad if he would buy the video monitor I want once we get our discount coupon.  Then, I got a card in the mail saying that BRU would give me a $10 gift card and a bag of goodies if I registered there, so I did it and plan to take advantage of the 10% completion discount there, as well.  I felt a little tacky doing it, but I'm a sucker for saving $.

I have a small registry on Amazon. We're not having a shower, but DD is 7, we have no baby things from her, and this is my husband's first child (DD from previous marriage) and his family is excited to buy grandbaby gifts. Also-completion discount!

I made a private wish list on BRU for #2 and this baby just to keep track of the stuff I needed to buy.

I will probably make a couple so, I can get the discounts but I am NOT having a shower or telling people I am registered.

I will also probably use an earlier due date so, I can get the discount sooner.

I made one to get coupons and $10 off at babies r us when you opened a registry!! I will not be sharing it with the world.
