measured small?

so today I went into my first appointment which we thought was my eight week mark because my last period was January 10th give or take a day. I got a possitive reading on the pregnancy test about 3 weeks ago so they scheduled me when they thought i'd be 8 weeks. I got the US done today she said according to the dates i was 7 weeks 5 days and the baby was measuring 6 weeks 6 days....and the heart beat was in the 90's so a little slower than normal. The doctor said it looked good she could see the yoke sac and the baby she was just concerned that it was smaller than what it should be according to my dates but it is good for being 6 weeks 6 days....Has anyone also had this, where the baby was measuring smaller than the expected size? i'm suppose to go back thursday to get more blood work, then 2 weeks later for an ultrasound hopefully its just that my ovulation dates were off. im a little worried but i'm also happy that i was able to see the baby & hear the heart beat. just hope my little bean hangs in there!

Sounds like you probably just o'd late. H&H 9 months!

I agree, sounds like a late ovulation. I am somewhat afraid this is going to happen to me. I found out pretty early that I was pregnant, and it was a complete surprise, so having to wait even longer will really test my patience (which in cases like this is almost nonexistent)

a heartbeat between 90 - 110 can be very normal at 6w6d. If you aren't sure when you ovulated, then it is quite possible that your dates are off, and you are really in your 6th week instead of you 7th.

Similar situation here.  Went in for my first u/s when I thought I was 8 wks, but was actually 6wks 2 days and hb was 121.  Was told all looked okay and haven't been told there was any need to worry.  You should be fine!

thanks, all your comments are really reassuring.I think my dates are just a little off & had a late ovulation..just gonna hope & pray my little baby hangs in there. also heard boys have slower heart rates..i know theres no scientific evidence but i'm also hoping for a boy so maybe that could be it for the lower heart rate. but overall i just want a healthy baby!

so my first appointment the day of the ultrasound they took my blood to see the hormone levels. they called me yesterday and told me my levels were normal ranges for the 8 week range. I went yesterday to give more blood to see if it is doubling properly and should be hearing back today. My question is if the hormone levels are the week i thought i was 8 weeks why is my baby showing only 7 weeks big. is that normal..can the hormone levels be higher..am i just having a small baby? has that happened to anyone?
