It was pretty funny. I wasn't even offended because I was laughing so hard. So we will see if it is a girl it is between Sophie and Addison.

Sorry you're having problems with everyone not caring for your name/ not respecting that you've chosen a name.  That sucks.

We're telling family the names we've picked out, but they have all approved so far because they are family names.  All we have to do is figure out the order.  I'm not so sure we'll tell everyone our name order when we decide that, but I don't think they'll press us.  We'll see.

Tell everyone that you are already dead set on the name and have been for awhile and maybe if you have another child you will consider the names then.  I hate when people do that though.  Its so annoying.

Just tell them you aren't asking for their opinions.  They are the names you love and you don't care what anyone thinks.

I totally agree with you.  My mom suggested a name for us and now constantly calls the baby "Grace."  She told me that God told her in a dream that the baby is a gift that I wasn't expecting and then told me, "I never get to pick anything!"  Really!  She named my brother and I and she thinks she should also get to choose my baby's name?  Talk about guilt!

Agreed, my mother got almost angry when I told her we weren't telling anyone the name. I told her that when we picked names for our son we got a lot of judgy people saying they disliked the names. She responded, "WHY??? Well you can tell ME!!! I won't say I don't like it..." Ummm...right...because you were one of the people that didn't like my son's name while in the womb. Duh. So soon we forget...

LOL! My MIL wanted us to name our daughter Seattle. She has been pushing it since we found out we were having a girl. I am from Washington state but that is going way overboard. She said she wants to call her SiSi for short. I want to call MIL Cray Cray as in Crazy. She is Koo Koo for Cocoa Puffs if she thinks I will be naming my kid Seattle.

She has picked out Scarlett, Lucinda, and Mystic. Seriously, mother? o.O Our child is not going to be some fictional girl you've made up who is whimsical and sweet. She's going to cry and poop and probably play in the mud when she's older.
