Ladies, hug your bellies (warning - sad)

I wouldn't normally post this but I just found out that a lady I know through work had a stillborn baby last night.  She went for her appointment and they couldn't find a heartbeat so they sent her to the hospital to have a c-section.  She was due this weekend.  My co-workers and I were talking about how we wouldn't even know what to do or think at that time.  What is worse is this is the second person that I know (in a roundabout way) that has had this happen since I have been pregnant.

I really wish people wouldn't post things like this. I know it happens and I am truly very sorry for her. But, sometimes I think ignorance is bliss. It's stories like this that makes me have weird dreams and makes my mind go crazy with the "what ifs."

Did she have any issues or problems in the rest of her pregnancy??

I just honestly don't understand how this can actually happen.  As in, what causes a baby to go to full-term and then be still born?  Was the cord wrapped around its neck?

Why do I read these things? I keep thinking about that ER episode from years ago where Dr. Carter and his GF lost their baby just before it was due. Kind of wish I hadn't seen that, either.
