How many of us stayed home and how many came into work?
It's days like this that I really HATE not being a SAHM! DD has her Halloween parade at pre-school @ 10am and trick-or-treating in my town is only from 3p-6p (=totally lame!!!). MIL is going to the parade to take pics for us. I'm hoping that we get let out early (I work for the fed gov't and they usually let us off 2 hours early, so I'd be home by 2:45pm) if not then MIL gets to take DD trick-or-treating while I sit at my desk.
This is DDs first year where she is really excited and aware of what Halloween is and I'm missing it... I'm having a pity party in my cube right now.
Re: WOHM & Halloween
I'm working today, but leaving early (2'ish). If ds went to daycare and had a special event today and Grammy wasn't around to go, I would have to take the day off. Our festivities don't start till around 4:30, so we are good to go.
Not only is today Halloween but it's the Phillies World Series Parade (I work in Philadelphia) so it was a "restricted" day to take off/leave early... they base who can take off by seniority and in the grand scheme of gov't employees I'm a newbie so there was no chance of me getting off and I'd probably be fired if I called out.
Could you have taken a vacation day??
I don't work on Fridays --- so that works out this year.
Last year --- I got up extra early, went in to work early so that I could leave early. Got home about 5 and we went out around 6:30 (after dinner) for TOT. Weird that they do it so early where you live? Kids here don't go out until 6ish.
That really, really sucks!
