I just spent about $40 on products to help my GI system. Ridiculous. I'm one of those people that's very... how you say... regular. Well since I've been taking zofran I am so horribly backed up I can't stand it. Not only am I backed up, but when I go it's like I'm crapping a damn grapefruit, which is horribly painful. So I've upped my water intake and just bought some fiber and colace (and needlesss to say I also picked up some tucks pads and Prep H cream and suppositories). I am praying for some relief.
On a side note, I was a little unnerved when I opened the suppository and it smelled like chocolate. Apparently it has cocoa butter in it. Made the hot cocoa I had earlier rumble a bit.
Re: A vent about a TMI subject
Have you tried one of those little kiddie step stools? They work wonders for me! I'm pretty regular, too, but the stool helps me get into more of a "squatting" position while sitting that allows gravity to assist in the... movement. I have a collapsible one like this: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=13990999
Before conceiving a friend and I used to snag her daughter's potty step stool and use that when we went. She accidentally walked in on me one day and saw me using it and was like, "You use it, too? That thing is AWESOME isn't it?" lol
Other than that, the only thing that gets me going when I'm stuck is a cup of coffee.
I have tried using a stool but it hasn't helped the fact that my stool is rock hard and huge when I do go and it's become so traumatizing. I constantly feel bloated, which sucks, and I'm concerned about the amount of blood in the toilet after going. My doctor suggested the fiber and colace, so I'm praying that'll work. I think the fact that I now absolutely dread going is just exacerbating the problem.
Man, I sure know how to keep it classy, eh?
