Poop Leaks

The past couple of days, DS has leaked out of his covers badly.  He'll be on his side breastfeeding, then I'll hear his butt gurgle and know what's coming.  Usually I've been able to continue feeding no problem, but it's starting to spill out the leg hole closest to me.  I have osocozy newborn prefolds and Real Nappies newborn size covers.  I've been using the angelwing fold with a snappi and closing the cover as tightly around his legs as I can.

What can I do?  Is this a sign he's outgrowing the prefolds?  Are the covers themselves to blame for not containing the poo, or are the prefolds the culprit?  Are covers supposed to be able to contain what spills out of the prefold?  TIA

Do the covers have a leg gusset? That can help. It's definitely a fit issue if it's leaking. I would try to get another kind of cover to try - Thirsties Duo size 1 for sure have leg gussets. I'm sure other brands do as well.

You could try another fold (jellyroll?) too.
