Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Eats solids only at DC

DS is at daycare for six hours a day and eats 4-5 baby food containers in that time frame. When he is at home, all he wants to do is nurse. On the weekends I can hardly get him to eat a single thing of baby food -- he just wants to BF for his meals. He will self-feed fairly well at home.

Anyone have anything similar or any input as to whether or not this is a problem? I'm mostly worried about the long-term nature of his refusing to really eat when he's got me nearby. I'm planning to wean around 15 months.

Re: Eats solids only at DC

  • I am confused, you said he self feeds fairly well at home, those are solids too. For a long time DS would refuse purees at home but eat them at daycare (peer pressure I guess). At home I guess he only saw us eating table food so that is what he wanted. I would try increasing the real table food since that is where you are going to be headed anyways and focus less on the purees. Maybe try adding in more real meals first before nursing.
