We are debating this now... and need to decide quickly. DS will be one in April. I want to have a gathering for the family at a park (with the same name- how cool is that?!). It would be about 15 people with the cousins being the only kids (about 6 kids).
If you are having a party for your LO's first birthday:
1. Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc) Our house
2. How many people are you expecting? 30
3. Of the attendees, how many are kids? 4 (b/t the ages of 5-10)
I am keeping it to just family since he won't remember the party and I do not want him overwhelmed by the commotion. Our home is on 5 acres, so the older kids will be outside playing, weather permitting.
At our house, hopefully with just close family (less than 20). That is MY plan. DH might disagree, but it's too hard for us to draw the line when we go beyond close family.
(That might change as we start to feel more pressure and guilt from some of our friends)
1. Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc) One of the nearby parks - either a picnic shelter or one of the indoor facilities. I'm still debating the wisdom of planning an outdoor party in May in NE Ohio.
2. How many people are you expecting? Around 30. Primarily family, plus a few close friends
3. Of the attendees, how many are kids? 4 kids, maybe 7 depending on who comes in from out of town (not including some of the more immature family members who sometimes act like 4-year-olds), ages 1-4
1. Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc) Our house
2. How many people are you expecting? 10 adults, 1 other toddler, one infant (grandparents, greatgrandma, aunt, one couple friend with two kids- if we invited more than that one couple friend, we'd have to invite many other friends with many other kids - it would get out of hand)
3. Of the attendees, how many are kids? 2.

1. Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc): Local rental hall. Our house is not big enough to fit both of our families, let alone friends.
2. How many people are you expecting? About 50
3. Of the attendees, how many are kids? 8 (under the age of ten)
Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc) At my parents house. (They are on the beach!) We have cats and SOO many of our friends and family are allergic, so it is easier to use my parents house.
2. How many people are you expecting? I haven't made the guest list--but probably between 50-70. My husband has a HUGE family.
3. Of the attendees, how many are kids? 15-20? Lots of our friends have kids and we have a lot of young cousins.
We live in Colorado and the rest of our family lives in Ohio. We are just having a few friends over and some other moms and babies from our meetup group.
3. a bajillion...most of our friends have 2 or 3 kids, and it became impossible to "draw the line" if we invited anyone but family (and our family is really small in general, I really wanted to celebrate with our friends too). Luckily we have a huge backyard, so we are planning to do an Egg Hunt since it's the day before Easter, and I'm just praying for good weather!!
Its going to be huge -if everyone comes. But I'm ok with it because it's mostly family and then a few friends with kids. I would have rather had it outside at a park but his birthday is at the end of march and the weather is to unperdictable
1. Where is the party going to be located (your house, park district, entertainment facility, zoo, etc) our house .. we are hoping it will be nice enough to be outside though.
2. How many people are you expecting? We are inviting about 55

3. We invited two grade schoolers, 4 or 5 toddlers, and several infants...plus a fetus or two. These are all kids of our good friends.
