1st Trimester

My current list of complaints

I am exhausted, nausated (and hungry at the same time?!?), feeling so bloated/fat/unattractive, and my boobs hurt. All I want to do is go home and put on sweatpants and watch reruns of 30 Rock on my DVR, but I'm stuck at work for another four hours :(

To make it worse, it's DH's birthday and I promised to make him porkchops for dinner, the thought of which is already making me gag, so I'm not sure how I'm going to get through that.

Anyone else feeling my pain?

Oh boy. Find a crock pot recipe or just toss them in the oven. It will be less smelly and handled the least.  Good luck.

I am bloated, giant, my back hurts and I haven't been able to shower in two days (yes very gross!) because everything is so hectic and I fall asleep before I can get to it at night. My in-laws are house sitting and babysitting for us this weekend so I'm scrambling to clean EVERYTHING. I feel your pain! I just want to eat a giant bowl of ice cream and watch chick flicks in my leggings and hoody.

  • The thought of any sort of pork is enough to make me gag! Ick! My poor hubby has had to take over the cleaning and cooking because all I want to do is lay on the couch. Ughh Can't wait for the second trimester to come.

  • Just hang in there, hun! Most women get a little relief from their morning sickness during the second trimester. I had horrendous morning sickness during the first third of my pregnancy. I lost seven pounds because of it. I would vomit at the most inconvenient and embarrassing times. It seemed like I was always sick, but always hungry and at the same time I was just positive that my body was starting to sag and look unattractive. We all go through those emotions. It's perfectly normal. Just pamper yourself and do the best you can day by day and I promise you will get through it.

  • Can you get carryout?  The thought of porkchops makes me want to upchuck.

And yes, I feel your pain.  I haven't been very productive at work :(  And now my sweatpants are too tight so what do I even have to look forward to??!?!

Good luck with the dinner.  I haven't cooked for my husband in 4 weeks.  Hope that makes you feel better!

  • I was just coming on here to complain about feeling fat. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I just told my co-worker that I had to buy maternity jeans over the weekend because my regular jeans don't fit and she looked at me like I was crazy for needing them so early.

  • I don't mean to be a b*tch, I just want to offer you my point of view in hopes that maybe you'll see your pregnancy a little bit differently.  My last pregnancy I complained about stupid stuff... I complained when the water was off in my office and my big pregnant self had to walk so far to go pee, I complained I was tired, I did all the typical pregnant lady complaining.  My son was born sleeping, my world came crashing down.  All of those complaints seem so trivial now... I cherish EVERY moment of that pregnancy because it was the only time I ever had with my sweet angel.  I'm now pregnant again with a child that I pray every day will be my rainbow baby, I get excited to have my head in the toilet because it's a sign that I have a baby with me.  I'm not saying you can't complain, I get it, I do... after all this is my second pregnancy.  On the same token, just appreciate it.  Even the sh*tty parts of it, because you'll never experience this pregnancy again.

Sorry I know I didn't ever intro on this board, and I'm fine getting flamed if that's what happens... I just wish someone had given me this perspective when I still had my son with me.

  • I don't think she was lecturing or suggesting that the OP didn't appreciate her pregnancy at all. She was just trying to offer some perspective and encourage us to stop being so whiny about silly things.

I'm also pretty sure that she is one of the last people you should talk about stuff being 'unfair' to. Judging by her story, she knows more about unfair then any of us will hopefully ever have to.

This exactly, I did not mean to lecture, it's like I said...I am just offering a perspective I wish I had before I lost my son.

  • I have to agree with Petunia.

  • I hear ya!  I help my friend out a couple days a week with her 1 year old and i can't stand to even look at the food I have to feed him.  Every time i touch it i gag.  Raw ground turkey is the most recent thing i can't touch without feeling sick.

I have all your symptoms plus insomnia.  I'm up until 2am and can't seem to sleep past 7am.  On top of that my legs are twitching more from RLS and everything i can smell smells horrible.  I can't smell anything good.

Hang in there.  I hear the 2nd trimester gets better.

Everyone can whine about a silly thing for a second. It's not hurting anyone and it is not minimizing anyone's else's tragedy. Give me a break.

    This. FFS.

  • I feel the exact same way and that's pretty much all I did on my days off this week. Stayed home in sweats, watched everything on my DVR, ate because I was hungry but light because my stomach felt iffy, took naps, made my husband cook dinner, and hid my fat, bloated belly under a blanket. And doesn't my husband have the nerve to say I look sexy?!?!
