I didn't notice any the first time, that is until after delivery. I had a c/s and then noticed some on the sides of my incision. I'm convinced they gave them to me during the procedure. Ok, maybe they were there before, and I just couldn't see them.
I think it just depends on the person. I'm a FTM and starting to get small ones on my sides. When my mom was pregnant with me she never got any stretch marks.
It completely varies person to person. Some people get no stretch marks at all. It depends on your genetics that have determined the composition of your skin. That's also why some women get no results from using various "stretch mark creams". The severity depends on the same thing; so they can be small white lines to thick dark red lines. I had some start showing up at about 22 weeks as small white lines and I haven't had any further since.
I didn't notice any stretch marks until after delivery. I had faint little ones on the underside of my belly that's hard to see while pregnant. But I feel like they faded pretty well and aren't too noticeable. I'm hoping for the same luck with this pregnancy.
It totally varies, but I didn't have any until 3 days after I gave birth. I was very disappointed by that, but it was only three small ones that popped up when my stomach was shrinking.
Saying I am already bigger now than when I gave birth last time, I don't think I"m going to get off so easily this time.

In the nicest and most respectful way possible, I'd like to say "screw you" to all you moms who didn't notice any stretch marks at all or till after delivery.
I'm beginning to look like I've been ripped apart! (27 weeks,) and my DH calls me a tiger because I have so many "stripes." I understand this is a part of pregnancy and I KNOW it will all be worth it when my girl comes, but I am so self conscious about my body now!
last 2 weeks for me with my first baby. Just a couple and they went away pretty fast and now I can see them again stretching out with this pregnancy but hope I don't get new ones!

I noticed mine in the mirror sometime in my third trimester. They were on the underside of my belly. I've gotten more with each pregnancy on my belly, hips, and inner thighs. I'm proud of my "battle scars", but that being said...you'll never see me in a bikini again
I love this quote I saw on pinterest:
A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn.
One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes,
and slept in the most perfect darkness.
One for every time you had the hiccups.
One for every dream you dreamed within me.
It isn't very pretty anymore.
Some may even think it's ugly.
That's OK.
It was your home.
It held you until my arms could,
and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it.
a few people have told me they got them after the baby was born when things shrunk back down. it's mostly genetic tho so some might get them early on and some not at all.
Preemie mom! Born 10 weeks early but Mommy and baby are both doing great!!
It all depends on your genetic predisposition to them, and how far your skin has been stretched so far. Even though I've only gained 15 pounds so far, I have a really short torso and it's all in my belly, which already looks like a beach ball at this point.
I've had red stretchmarks showing up on my belly since about 26w and they seem to get worse every day. But I knew I'd likely be prone to them because my mom had terrible stretchmarks from her pregnancies. Lucky gene pool, I guess.

I started to get a couple at 25 weeks. Right in the front of my belly. Nice and purple . I've had stretch marks all my life from growing so fast as a kid. I knew they were coming. Oh, well. They fade after a while and aren't that noticable.
The first little ones on my upper thighs showed up around 34 weeks and by week 40 really got ugly, however it was Aug and I was swollen like a hot air balloon so that is why mine ended up getting so bad. With this LO they have already started to show where they had faded from DS, so I am guessing they will only get worse with time. Hopefully they fade as well as they did after LO #1.

I have some on each hip that started as purple dots and are now turning into lines. I noticed a few under my bump under my belly button. It looks like a scratch of 4 lines. I have been using Mothers Friend lotion on them and it lessens the color of them. But, I am not banking on it removing them. My SIL told me to use it b/c she never got one while using it and she had twins. I suppose she has the lucky gene pool and I don't b/c I have only gained 10lbs so far. No more bikinis for this girl.

I'm a FTM and I started getting stretch marks around 22ish weeks. Started out as one tiny little spot. And now I have a couple stripes on each side of my lower belly, under my belly button. And I have a couple spots showing up on my hips and thighs that I am sure will develop into more sexy sexy stripes. HOT.
Sigh.

I don't have any yet that I can see. I'm just going to pretend I don't see any that do pop up. My mom has some so I'm kind of expecting to get them, but I guess we'll see.

This made me cry! I don't have any yet, but reading this...I wouldn't mind if I did. it is all worth it!
I got them above my hips last time...and my boobs and thighs.
Boobs came around the beginning of third trimester. Hips came at 36 and 37 weeks, and thighs I didn't see until after delivery (due to the giant belly, lol)
Re: When do most mamas get stretch marks?
Please keep your LOs RF as long as possible
I'm 27 weeks and noticed my first stretch mark on my boob today.
None on my tummy yet. My mom and sister didn't have them so I'm hoping I don't either.
