Cloth Diapering

Econobum??

Thoughts on these diapers?  I'm currently thinking of makin the switch from disposables because of diaper rashes on my daughter.  She's almost 11 months, I work full time and have a 3 year old.  I don't want to spend a bunch of money, in case I realize CDing is too much.  But I'd like to have some on hand to see I'd they solve my stupid diaper rash problem!

I found a "deal" for $50 I would get 3 covers, 12 pre folds, and 1 wet bag.

Re: Econobum??

  • I had some Econobum covers back when I was doing NB fitted.

They weren't my most favorite. There was so many snaps it was hard to get right and they seemed a bit flimsy.

That said, there was not a thing wrong with them. I never had a leak or a problem. I guess I can't say they didn't work..they just weren't my go tos.

I had a couple of the covers because they were a good value for the money. I can agree with that.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to try them. I can't say I loved them but I can't pinpoint what was wrong with them either.

  • In my opinion, the pros are the cost and they work well. The cons are that they're bulky and that the snaps and non-stretchy tabs make them a little more difficult to adjust just right. I don't like them as much as some of my other diapers and I find that I don't use them very much. I would be interested in selling them (I have 4 covers and 4 prefolds) if you want more. PM me if you're interested and I'll give you details.
  • I started with Econobums for the same reason.  I didn't want to shell out a ton of money if I wasn't going to stick with it.  After I realized the CDing was going to work, I added some flip covers (which I prefer) and bumGenius 4.0s.  But I still use my Econobum PFs in my flips!
