Poor LO when will it all end? :(

HI mamas!

My poor LO first had newborn acne, then milia and now cradle cap. I feel so bad.  I know it's harmless and common and she is not bothered by any of it at all but I am so frustrated that she seems to be getting all of the common "issues" in the first months. I just hope this doesn't last long. I read that it can take up to a year for it to clear up :0

How are your bundles of joy doing? OH and what is it with babies not pooping until you unwrap them and put a new diaper on LOL

My poor LO's face is a mess(an adorable mess, but a mess all the same) she has bad newborn acne, scratched herself real good, and a clogged tear duct that gives her eye boogies. Oh and she is way past due for a bath so her hair is greasy. Her cord just fell off finally so she is getting her first real bath tonight.

The worst thing we're dealing with is her scratching herself. I have pretty much settled on the fact that we'll need to use the newborn mittens for a few more weeks.

Just be thankful your LO waits until you put a diaper on, fresh or not. Mine likes to poop al fresco. We go through a lot of changing pad covers.

Both my kids had the acne and cradle cap.  Poor DS had cradle cap on his eye brows too.  Ask your pedi, but mine said with dd to use selsun blue on the cradle cap (just be careful not to get in the eyes).  What we did was swaddle and I had DH hold them over the sink while I made a little lather and then used a wash cloth to rinse out.  DD's cradle cap was gone after one washing, and DS's took two probably because he had so much more hair so it was harder to scrub around.

As for the acne, if you are bfing, you can smear some bm on their face (and chest and back in DS's case haha).  It clears up pretty fast that way.

BRU sells these oval shaped water proof pads that go on top of the changing pad. I believe they're made by Boppy and you get 4 for $15. They are machine washable and worth every penny!
