my husband and I want to have a baby so bad...im getting really discouraged. we have been trying for a year now and no luck......going to try the every other day with sex and just ordered the I cups. Praying for a miracle from God. I get cysts all of the time on my ovaries..been told that can hurt your chances of having a baby.My husband and I are getting sad when every other day a friend or family member announces their pregnancy.  Any other ideas to make us prego fast...:)   ???

Have you read the newbie link at the top of the board? Many of the ladies here chart their basal body temperature and some use OPKs, which together tell you if and when you ovulate, which can help you time sex.  In addition, many of us use Fertility Friend, a free website to track your charting. You can link to it from the ticker in my signature.  Welcome and good luck~

I have cysts on my right ovary, and had to see a specialist to monitor it, and was told it shouldn't effect me getting pregnant.

Honey, if there was a way to get pregnant fast, every single woman on this board would have done it already!

If you've been trying for a year, it sounds like you need to visit an RE.

God does perform miracles, don't let anyone tell you differently. I have 2 stories....

1.) Friend and her Husband we BOTH  considered medically infertal. They were saving money for IVF and after 3 years of trying on their own they end up preg with no medical help! They now have a 1 month old adorable little boy!

2.) My Best Friend and her Husband were trying for 16 months. They were about to put her on Clomid and now she is expecting!

Its been a year, so its wise to see an RE but do not give up your faith! ::HUGS::

Since you've been trying for a year, it's time to see RE. They will do bloodwork, ultrasound, HSG and take it from there, also your DH should have a SA (semen analysis). We're on cycle 14, both been tested and all was well, medication was not recommended so we can either continue trying on our own or IUI but we're going to try on our own for another year, only advice I can give is to make sure you're having sex during fertile window (confirmed by temping). Good luck

Stories like these are insanely obnoxious and not helpful at all. Maybe she should just adopt, then she'll get pregnant right away. 

And you do not have to see an RE at a year. You can.

And opinions such as yours are offensive to those of us who have faith in a higher power. Just because you don't subscribe to a belief system doesn't mean that others don't either. 

 

The OP clearly stated that she was praying for a miracle. I'd consider that an invitation to share stories of hope and faith.

what an awful first experience i think i prefer to muster quietly.. was hoping this was going to be a little bit more positive.

thank you to the four positive people, your words were kind and welcoming. But after this I am thinking this blog is not for me, I know there are always negative people..but this process is already tough and stressful.

Yes, it may be helpful to lurk and just read posts here to find information about TTC. There is so much helpful information; I think you'll find there is a lot of useful stuff on this board, even if you don't post messages.

As others have said, if you have been trying for a year with well timed sex, it wouldn't be out of the question to talk to your OB and inquire further. No, you don't need to take that step, but since you mentioned cysts as a concern, talking to your doctor may help with some of your questions.
