Geocaching (obviously NBR)

Does anyone on here participate in geocaching?  I just saw a TV show about it and I signed up online!   I can't wait to go find "treasure"!  There are over 1000 things just in my small town, not to mention the amount in the big city a few miles from us.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about... you use your GPS to find places in your town (or wherever - it's all over the world) where people have hidden little things for you to find.  They are containers with goodies in them and a log sheet.  You replace the goodies with new things for the next person to find and sign the sheet.  There is a website with a whole list of places to search and GPS coordinates for the really well hidden.  You can hide your own too.

Apparently, there is one a few blocks from my house!  We are going for a walk when LO wakes up from his nap if there is daylight left. Squeee!  Fun!

Yes, we go geocaching. It is great fun! It started out as an experience to bond with my step-daughter, and now my DH likes to go too. I also always make sure we do a couple when we are on vacation somewhere. Makes it even more of an adventure. I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to ask me any questions.

I have a friend who does it and loves it.  I've always thought about it, but never made the move... maybe I should make a point of doing it with LO.  I hope you give us an update about your experience!

I have heard about geocaching a lot lately - but I honestly had no idea what people were talking about.  Sounds fun.  Might have to try it out.

We went to the little park by our house after naptime, but we couldn't find the thing.  After looking at the hint, we'll go back when we have time.  Hopefully, it will be warm again tomorrow and we can walk down there before dinner.

I've been telling DH that I want to pick this up as a hobby.  We like to hike and do things outside, so this would be a fun way to add to it!
