Hips issues

This may seem like an odd question but I was wondering... have you ever heard of cloth diapers giving babies issues with their bone development (i.e.. hip dysplasia)? I use Best Bottoms and I feel like it makes my LO's legs bow out more than disposables did. It's especially noticeable when we use the overnight inserts. So I'm curious if I'm just reading too much in to this or if there is reason to worry. Also, can they hinder motor development? When we do tummy time he doesn't move as much with the diapers on compared to when he has on a disposable or is naked. Again, am I over thinking this?

If cloth diapers caused developmental problems, whole generations would have been disfigured.

I agree with tokenhoser.  I've never heard of this before and I have quite a few friends who are physical therapists.

I dont think cloth diapers cause hip dysplasia. My LO was born with congenital hip dysplasia and our doctor actually told us that the CDs help position her hips properly. Before they usedthe Pavlik harnesses, they used to triple diaper babies to position their hips better. So I doubt the extra bulk is causing problems.
