Herbal Formulas in early pregnancy

Has anyone continued on any forumulas from your acu once you got your BFP? Mine has given me: Bu Shen Gu Chang Tang/miscarriage....she said it's to help secure what's in there and to lessen the risk of m/c for those with previous m/c's. Didn't find much on google, but I did find references to it being used with a history of m/c and with kidney qi deficiencies, which is what I was originally diagnosed with at acu.

Any thoughts? I would imagine my RE will say no, since herbs are not tested by the FDA. I am hesitant, not knowing what they can do to a growing embryo. At the same time, I strongly believe it's acu that has gotten me to this point...since starting in July, I now have "regular" 27-28 day cycles and this is now the 2nd pregnancy in a non-medicated cycle. I am going to a clinic that specializes in fertility treatment, so I am hopeful they know what they are doing with what the dispense. Additionally, my acu is pg herself, so I would hope she is only giving me what she would be comfortable with. I asked her if it was safe to take and she said yes, absolutely.I'm willing to do anything I can to help this little one, but also dont' want to do something that could potentially harm him/her...

I'm pretty sure ur dr will say no. But what are u comfortable with?  I've taken herbs etc that my RE wound not allow.  I felt fine doing it bc my acu assured me it was fine.  So it's up to what u feel ok with doing.  I believe the drs are overly strict, and I'd feel ok taking stuff from muly acu.

I am leaning toward taking it. I feel like my acu has don't such great things so far. Just slightly hesitant, b/c I know my Dr would say no. Feeling a little torn!

Sometimes Chinese medicine does things for people that western medicine can't.  I'd prob take them if my acu suggested.

I have been taking herbs that my TCM Dr. prescribes for me, and took them before and after my IVF (not during). I also credit acu and herbs for help in getting me where I am now. My RE and OB I am sure would not like it, but I trust that my TCM Dr. would not give me anything harmful. I have gotten a little bit lazy about taking my herbs religiously since I drink them down as a tea, but I am still doing it as much as I can and going to acu every 2 weeks as well.

My TCM Dr. has 30 years of experience in TCM in female reproductive health and has a TCM degree from Chengdu University of TCM in China and taught and practiced there before coming to the US. I think as far as herbs and TCM goes, she knows what she is doing.
